The Greatest Gift Given

This is the time of year that most people get super crazy with gift shopping and decorations for their homes. All the time they are getting more stressed out day by day, and as the days get closer and closer to the day we call Christmas the people seemed to get more crazed. So crazed that they lose sight of what it is really all about. The world is trying to make us forget what it is all about, they make the sales and they put the fairy tales in place so that the people are deceived. The gift shopping, the presents, the meal, or even the time that you spend with your family… that is not what Christmas is about.

The real reason for Christmas, the reason why we celebrate it in the first place is because of one reason and one reason only is the fact that One very special person who gave up everything to come to this place to save us. While He was not born on the date of December 25th, it is the day that most of the world recognizes as the day to celebrate His birthday.

Even the Spirit of prophecy tells us that we should not ignore the day. Instead of spoiling our children with gifts we are to give them something that would bring them closer to the Lord or something that they truly need. This can go for friends and other people in your family as well. We also know that a lot of the traditions that the world does is pagan. Instead of putting up decorations we can set up an offering that goes to help those in need. We can do a lot of good if we so choose on this holiday or we can make it as selfish as we can, by putting all the focus on ourselves.

We must choose rather to remember that there are people out there who are less fortunate. Also to remember that the greatest gift that was given; it was for everyone’s sake that the God of heaven put His Son into the form of a baby. He came down so that He could eventually come back again to take everyone that believes in Him to heaven. We therefore must share this great gift with everyone we come in contact with as well.

While it is good to look back to the occasion of His birth I believe it is an even better idea to look forward to the future and what the Lord is going to do! He made the sacrifice of all time, it is now our turn to do the same and sacrifice self.

With all that said, let us not only thank the Lord for His sacrifice but also for the many blessings that He has bestowed on us.  By giving of ourselves it is a sacrifice and when we do that we realize that we are the ones who have been truly blessed! When we give our heart to God it is the greatest gift that we can give to Him, and then by sharing the story of the gift that He gave unto us, to others!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone and may God bless you this New Year that is coming! May we all be found worthy to stand in the New Earth with Him!

I want to go wherever my Saviour leads me, and want to do what He tells me. I am serving the Lord wherever He calls me to go. I laugh and smile very easily, and love to meet new people! The Lord has given me the talent of singing, and playing the flute. I love to play songs which glorify my Savior. A few of my other favorite things I like to do is; reading the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy, cooking, knitting, and I love to witness and share about Jesus! My character is moldable for His hands! If I don't get to meet you here on this earth, meet me in the heavenly kingdom! You can also check out my Facebook page Matthew 22: 14 - For many are called, but few are chosen. John 15:6 - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. *~Kaila~*
