Wednesday, July 3, 2013, was a really awesome day! The Lord blessed me so much, and I was filled with a sense of awe as I saw God’s leading hand.
To start off the day we went door knocking as usual and we got three tics (which is New Zealand way of saying checkmarks, aka we got three yes’s)! Praise the Lord for that!
Then we went and did some DVD drop-offs (we go to people’s houses and give them the next DVD in the series that we are passing out.) And at the last few houses that we did, we were waiting by the car for our other associate to come back from doing another house, and all of a sudden we heard a voice from across the street.
The man asked us if we were giving out DVD’s, we told him we were, he said that he had one of our DVD’s and asked us if we wanted it back, we told him yes we would like to have it back, and we then offered him the next one in the series, but he told us that he wasn’t interested in having another one.
Well, this series that we had been giving him was about health, we have another series about archaeology facts and information as well, and I felt impressed to ask this man if he would be interested in getting the other series. He then asked me what they were all about; I told him a few of the discoveries that had been found and then the last thing that I mentioned was that one of the DVD’s was about the fact if Noah’s ark had been found. He then said that recently he had been reading the newspaper and had seen a photo in the newspaper of Noah’s ark and how it was on a mountain, so he was quite interested in that and agreed to take the series.
We were praising the Lord as we left his house and went to find our comrade. We had to wait for a little bit beside the road before the car came to pick us up and when we got inside the car we told about our experience. My friend then asked if we had mentioned Noah’s Ark, I was amazed, I said it was one of the very things that I had mentioned. I repeated the conversation that I had just had with the man.
I was thinking how great our God is, and how He was definitely leading and guiding our paths! 🙂
Then came the best part of that day which topped everything off, it was amazing! Would you like to hear about it? Ok here it goes…
As we started to drive off, it started to rain, so we decided that I and one of the others would go and visit someone. Now I want you to keep in mind what I’m about to tell you, on Monday we had done visiting as well and one of the ladies that we had in mind to visit on Monday was the one I’m about to tell you about, but we had so many other visits that day that we didn’t get around to it.
Now coming back to yesterday, I had two elderly ladies in mind to go and visit, I was asked who we would like to see, we only had time for one visit, and so I made up my mind to visit the second of the two that I had in mind.
So, off we went. When we got there the door was answered by a different woman, and a younger one at that, well come to find out it was our old friend’s cleaning lady. So we chatted for a few moments and then the cleaning lady went to clean the house and we were all chatting and talking away but the cleaning lady wasn’t very far away so she could still hear and be a part of our conversation.
Well, we went into a different part of the old lady’s house to get something that the dear woman was giving to us. She asked us if we would mind helping her out with some dusting that she needed done, of course we were more than happy to help her out.
By that time the cleaning lady was at the other end of the house, so we dusted for our friend and I put on some water on to boil for some hot drinks. The cleaning lady joined us and we all had some hot water, herbal tea or a cold drink.
Anyway, this cleaning woman started to tell us how she was going home to visit her family to make right a wrong and tell them she had forgiven them. She said 2 years ago she had this dream about her ancestors. Well recently, I’m not sure when, she went to this friend’s house and, I have to interrupt myself here and say that this cleaning lady is part Maori and the friend she went to visit is Maori (Maori is a the local natives here in New Zealand), she told this friend about her dream.
This friend became very excited and asked her when she had had this dream, the lady then told her she had it about 2 years ago. Her friend then started to cry and leaned over as if she had a burden upon her back, the lady immediately asked her what the matter was and why was she crying. Her friend told her she was carrying this lady’s ancestors on her back, and then the lady saw a vision of the Maori lady dressed in the native clothes.
Her friend preceded to tell her things she would have no way of knowing, and she also told her she had to get out of Thames otherwise she would do great harm to herself, even to the point where she would commit suicide. She told her it was because of her depression that she would do this and she needed to go back home where she came from. The lady was really affected by this and started to cry along with her friend.
Well, of course all throughout the whole story I was completely intrigued and was silently praying in my mind, Lord help me somehow to share with her the truth, please give me an opportunity to say something!
When the lady finished telling her story, our dear old friend turned to me and asked me, “So, what do have to say about all of that?”
I was praising God in my mind, thanking Him for opening the door right up for me to say something!
The first thing I said was, “Well I hope that what I’m about to say is not offensive to you in anyway,” the lady assured me it wouldn’t and that she wanted to hear what I had to say. I had discovered earlier the lady was a Christian so I knew the next part of what I was going to say wouldn’t be a problem.
I told her there are two sides in the spiritual realm; there is God’s side and there is Satan’s side, to that she of course agreed. Then I said, “I am sorry to say this but your friend that told you all of this is on Satan’s side and is possessed with devils.”
I told her about the story in 1 Samuel, chapter 28 (if you want to know what it is I would encourage you to read it) and I told her when the dead die they don’t know anything and that they are asleep in the earth. I said, “So therefore your ancestors cannot be trying to communicate with you.” I told her about the scriptures in the Bible which say the dead not knowing anything.
By this time our other comrade had come and he texted me saying he was here. I told him we would be out in a minute. Well of course by that time several minutes had passed so he came to the door to rescue us so we could go. When I heard him knocking at the door, I was praising God because I knew he could help me with the situation and tell her other scriptures.
When he came in, I updated him about what was said and told him I was trying to come up with more scripture references. I could remember what the Bible said but not where it came from. So, he told the lady about a DVD we had called “Are the Dead Really Dead”? He said we could lend it to her if she would give us her address.
She said that she would like it and would give it to us, but first she said to me, “I have met you before.” Of course I was intrigued by this and I said, “Oh, really?”
She told me I came to her door about a month back with another person, but she had turned us away. Now my other friend that had come with me to visit spoke up and said, “God was giving her another chance.”
I agreed and told her that God was giving her another opportunity; she almost broke down and cried but she didn’t and said she was so thankful and we were angels sent from heaven.
Well, we left there praising the Lord for leading us, for we knew that He had guided our choice. Remember, there were two possible people that we could have visited, and we could have easily gone to visit her on Monday. And get this, the lady was going to go to our dear old friend’s house on Tuesday, but her knee was giving her trouble and she had to cancel it and make it for the following day, the very day we decided to go visit! Now isn’t God wonderful to organize all of that!
I left that house with a spiritual high for sure!
The whole time I was speaking; I felt as if I was on a battleground, and I knew what I was sharing with this woman was not making the devil happy. I also know God is more powerful than the devil, and He is the one in charge! I praise the Lord He used me in such a way; and I am praying that what I have said, and the DVD we gave her will change her life, and bring her closer to God!
Time is running out and we have a work to do, let us therefore pray more often and work harder. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities.”
